After 4 hours, Max and I arrived on the other side of the coast, beside the Irish sea. It was now 6:30pm as I was released into the wild, I bid Max farewell and headed up into the hills. I followed the coast for 2 miles, ducking in and out of the hillside, passing cows and sheep, calves and lambs. 2 hours later, I found a semi flat spot. It was still early but this was the best I was going to find and if I walked any further I would end up near the first village.
Evening meal eaten - wild mushroom cous-cous and tent up. I changed and dived in. I heard voices growing in volume as group of ladies stopped at the nearby bird viewing station. Eventually they moved on and I was left to sleep. I woke at 2am due to the wind and napped on and off until 4am, probably too excited to start the trail.
